Terms of Service

The rules for using LingVert's document digitisation service — written to be read, not skimmed.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the LingVert service you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

LingVert provides document digitisation services — converting scanned images and PDFs into editable Word documents using optical character recognition (OCR) and AI-assisted formatting. The service is provided "as is" and may change over time.

3. Accounts, Eligibility & Google Sign-In

You must provide a valid email address and verify it before using the service, or authenticate via "Sign in with Google." Either way, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Use of Google Sign-In is subject to Google's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy in addition to ours. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. One account per person — duplicate accounts created to collect additional free credits may be removed.

4. Credit System

The service operates on a credit-based model:

  • New accounts receive 100 free credits upon registration.
  • Credits are deducted per document processed, based on actual AI and OCR API costs.
  • Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
  • Additional credits may be purchased, or granted by administrators at their discretion.
  • Documents submitted when your balance is below the minimum job requirement may be rejected until you top up.

5. Payments & Refunds

Credit purchases are processed securely by our payment provider (Razorpay). Credits are added to your balance automatically once payment is confirmed. If a successful payment does not reflect in your balance within 30 minutes, contact us and we will reconcile it. Credits already consumed by completed processing are not refundable; for failed or duplicate payments we will refund or re-credit in full.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use LingVert only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Upload content you do not have the right to process
  • Use the service to process confidential or classified government documents without authorisation
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service
  • Share account credentials or use automated scripts to bulk-process documents without permission

7. Your Content & Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of the documents you upload and the converted outputs you download. By uploading, you grant us a limited licence to process your content solely for the purpose of providing the conversion service. The LingVert name, software, and interface remain our property.

8. AI Output & Accuracy Disclaimer — Please Read Carefully

LingVert's output is generated by AI models (Google Gemini / OpenAI GPT-family) and optical character recognition. AI systems can and do make mistakes.

We do not, and cannot, guarantee that a converted DOCX/PDF file is an exact, pixel-identical, or byte-identical reproduction of your original document. Our goal — and the standard we engineer to — is a highly and significantly similar reconstruction: matching layout, structure, formatting, tables, and text content as closely as reasonably achievable using automated OCR and AI reconstruction. It is not a guaranteed, verbatim, or legally certified copy of the source document.

  • Text, numbers, tables, equations, or formatting may be misread, mis-transcribed, omitted, or altered by OCR/AI, particularly on low-quality scans, handwriting, unusual fonts, or dense tables
  • Layout, spacing, page breaks, fonts, and colours in the output may differ visually from the source, even where the underlying content is correctly captured
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying every converted document before relying on it for any legal, financial, academic, medical, regulatory, or otherwise consequential purpose
  • The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or merchantability, whether express or implied

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LingVert and its owners, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any loss, damage, dispute, or consequence — direct or indirect — arising from reliance on, or inaccuracies in, AI-generated or OCR-generated output. If precise verbatim reproduction is required (e.g. for court filings, contracts, or certified records), have a qualified human review and, where necessary, certify the final document.

9. Data Handling & Privacy

We store your uploaded files and outputs to provide the service. We do not use your documents to train AI models, and we do not sell your data to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details. All uploaded data is deletable on request.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LingVert shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the value of credits purchased in the preceding 30 days.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via your Profile page. On deletion, your files and data will be removed within 7 business days.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
